Palmer Park Velo Youth Track Omnium
The PPV Youth track Omnium went well (Saturday 18th
May) at the first attempt. It was a slightly chilly over cast day, but this did
not stop the fun.
Riders from all over the southern
region turned up in large numbers and there was some fantastic racing. Well done
to all the competitors and especially to the Palmer Park riders, who as always
did us so proud.
Big very thank you to everyone that helped getting everything setup, weeding the track to make it look its
best. Also to everyone that helped on the day, pulling together to make our omnium
one of the best there is.
Here are the
results for all the races

In tremendous style, Tom Sefton recently broke the long standing U16 single lap
record. The previous mark of 35.03 seconds was set in April 2007 by Matthew
Gittings, now National Derny Champion. Tom bettered this mark by just 2/100ths
in setting a time of 35.01. It may be a very long time until this record is
bettered again. Very well done Tom.

Youth Female Madison Final

On day 4 of the National Track Championships, Abigail Dentus and her Madison
partner, Lucy Harper took an amazing 6th place in the Youth Madison Final.
They beat teams including
national road champions Keira McVitty and Bethany Hayward and were only behind
one other U14 team.
Another young PPV lady took to the boards in the Madison on Saturday.
Megan Lewis joined forces with Charlotte Broughton who had never ridden a
Madison before. The girls rode a safe race with a 8th placing at the end,
beating a number of U16 pairings in the process.

Well Done to all the girls!
