The selection process for the inter
regional events and UK School games, which will be held as a
pre Olympic event,
has
started.
If you will be
an U14 or U16 rider next year, make sure you have looked at the following pages
on the BC website, it is VERY exciting.

Please make sure you apply, not only
will you have the opportunity to get selected for the event, but there is likely
to be additional training and coaching available to riders that apply for
selection!!

The Zoe's Trust sponsored bike ride was a big success. Congratulations to everyone
who took part, you should be very proud of yourselves.
The total distance ridden was 3208.73km, smashing the original target of 1800km.

Congratulations to all those who participated so well in the Cycling Nuts races
at Hillingdon on 1st October. It was a fabulously hot day for the supporters but
extremely hard for the riders who, as usual, gave their all.

Youth Female Madison Final
On day 4 of the National Track Championships, Abigail Dentus and her Madison
partner, Lucy Harper took an amazing 6th place in the Youth Madison Final.
They beat teams including
national road champions Keira McVitty and Bethany Hayward and were only behind
one other U14 team.
Another young PPV lady took to the boards in the Madison on Saturday.
Megan Lewis joined forces with Charlotte Broughton who had never ridden a
Madison before. The girls rode a safe race with a 8th placing at the end,
beating a number of U16 pairings in the process.

Record Breaker
Well done to Cameron Thomson for beating the PPV U12 Boys 1 lap Time Trial record
in a time of 39.55
The Previous record of 40.56 was set by Ritchie Barlow set on the 3rd September 2005
Cameron has also beaten his own PPV U12 200m Time Trail record in a time of
14.80.
His previous time was 15.86 set on the 10th July 2010

BC Youth Track Omnium 2011
Now
the dust has now settled following the Omnium season, we would like to
congratulate all who took part representing PPV.
Our further congratulations go to those PPV riders who were successful in
qualifying to go to the Youth Omnium finals in Manchester (mid-August).
Abigail Dentus (U14 Girls) for impressively winning her category (southern
series)
Mathew Lansley (U14 Boys) consistently placing against tough competition
(central series)
Cameron Thomson (U12 Boys) qualifying having raced only 4 out of the possible 5
races (central series)
We wish them all well and further success.

Palmer Park Velo Youth Track Omnium
The PPV Youth track Omnium went well
(Sunday 26th June) at the second attempt. The beautiful
sunshine that bathed the riders and spectators could not have been more of a
contrast to the rainy and dismal weather that we had for the original date for
this event.
Riders from all over the central
region turned up in their numbers and there was some fantastic racing. Well done
to all the competitors and especially to the Palmer Park riders, who as always
did us so proud.
The event went like clockwork,
starting at 10.00am as scheduled, with races starting from U8 through U16 level,
all was finished by 15:00.
Big thank you to everyone that help
on Saturday getting everything setup, even weeding the track to make it look its
best. Also to everyone that helped on the day, pulling together to make our omnium
one of the best there is.
