Velo Rules
1. The club shall be affiliated to British Cycling, The
British Cyclo Cross Association, The Road Time Trials Council, The British
Schools Cycling Association or any other appropriate body as decided by the
Executive Committee.
2. The Club’s main purpose is to attract an active membership whose maximum
age will be 16 years on December 31st. Members who become 16 during
the club year 1st January - 31st December will be allowed to compete in
club championships and complete their final year of membership. Members aged 16
or over who have completed their term of membership will be eligible to become
associates to the PPV or to join the senior PPV RT, open to all age groups. The
PPV RT will also reserve the right to invite membership from the younger age
group based on ability and standard. Any first or second claim members over the
age of 16 are eligible to become Club Officials.
3. The Official registered Club Colours for the PPV RT shall be Yellow and
Red
The under 16’s will be permitted to wear Yellow and Green
4. The annual subscription rates shall be:
Family Membership £30
Under 12's £12.50
Under 16's £15.00
Associate Member £17.50
Seniors £17.50
2nd Claim Membership as per Full Rate
All rates will include BC, BCCA, BSCA, RTTC, and any other applying
affiliation fees. The membership subscriptions will be due on the 1st January in
each year. These rates will be reviewed annually at the AGM.
5. Members desirous of resigning shall notify the General Secretary prior
to 3lst December in any year. Previous members that have not
renewed their membership by the 31st January will be deemed to
have forfeited all rights and privileges accruing from membership.
6. New members elected after the 1st September in any event,
upon payment of the subscription shall be entitled to all the privileges of
full membership up to 3lst December in the following year.
7. Every individual wishing to become a member shall complete an
application form, and submit this, with the membership fee. The Executive
Committee reserve the right to refuse membership to the club.
8. Members and Parents will be expected to conduct themselves in an
acceptable manner at all times when acting in the name of the club. Members
and or Parents shall be liable to expulsion for unseemly conduct, and the
Executive Committee shall have the power to strike a member’s name off the
Club’s book. Or take whatever action is deemed necessary for and on behalf
of the club.
9. No Club member shall be allowed to take part in any Club event or to
ride in the Club’s name or Colours unless he is clear in the books.
10. No alteration in, or addition to, these rules shall be made except
with the consent of at least two-thirds of the members present at the Annual
General Meeting (or Extraordinary General Meeting called for the purpose)
notice thereof to be circulated to the members fourteen days before the
meeting, together with a copy of the Agenda, or copy of the relative
alterations or additions proposed.
11. Any matter not provided in these rules shall be dealt with by the
Executive Committee, whose decision shall be binding on all parties.
